Planning your day
Graduation is an exciting day for everyone and we want you to enjoy the day so please make sure you leave home in plenty of time and arrive at the Concert Hall with enough time to register, pick up your gown and be seated 15 mins before the start of your ceremony. Have a look at the schedule below, that way you can plan your day and make sure it runs smoothly.
The ceremony will last between one and a half to two hours depending on the number of graduands and prizewinners at the ceremony.
Important note
You must confirm your attendance at your graduation ceremony by closing date Friday 31 October.
Before the Ceremony
On arrival at Glasgow Concert Hall graduands must go to the College Registration Desk in the Exhibition Hall to register and collect their ticket.
Ceremony 2: 3pm
- 1.30pm - Registration and gown collection opens in the Exhibition Hall at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
- 2.45pm - Registration closes and graduands should be seated.
- 2.45pm - All guests should be seated.
- 3.00pm - Ceremony will start promptly.*
*To ensure the ceremony starts on time and for the enjoyment of all in attendance graduands who arrive late will not be admitted to the auditorium.
During the Ceremony
The ceremony will last between one and a half to two hours depending on the number of graduands and will follow this running order:-
- Academic Procession.
- Welcome and Housekeeping.
- Principal's Address.
- Guest of Honour's Address.
- Conferring of Awards. You will be taken out row by row in order of the programme and led to the side of the stage where your name will be checked one final time. Graduands will walk across the stage for acknowledgment by the Principal who will present you with your scroll. Graduands will walk off stage, where you will collect your commemorative certificate before returning to your seat.
- Presentation of Special Prizes.
- Principal's Commendations.
- Closing Remarks.
- Ceremony ends and the platform party leaves the stage.
- Graduates and guests are free to leave.
Please note:-
- Photographers will be available at the Concert Hall from 9am until 10pm.
- Gowns must be returned to the drop-off point in the Exhibition Hall at the end of the ceremony.
- Sign language interpreters will be on stage for the duration of the ceremony.
