REHIS® is a long established awarding body in Scotland for qualifications in Food Hygiene. Food Hygiene, otherwise known as Food Safety can be defined as handling, preparing and storing food or drink in a way that best reduces the risk of consumers becoming sick from food-borne disease. The principles of food safety aim to prevent food from becoming contaminated and causing food poisoning.

With this in mind, ensuring that food is safe for human consumption is likely the most critical part of the food preparation process.

Funding Options for Health and Safety Training?

The Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF), launched by the Scottish Government in September 2017, provides £10m of training to employers in Scotland who have been subject to the Apprenticeship Levy.  The aim of the fund is to provide eligible employers with workforce development training to up-skill and re-skill their existing workforce.
