Originally from the Isle of Skye, Isabelle Law joined City of Glasgow College to study BA (Hons) Photography, bringing a strong creative vision and a passion for visual storytelling. During her time at college, she developed a distinctive photographic style, using her work to explore powerful human and environmental narratives.
Isabelle made the most of every opportunity throughout her studies, building an impressive portfolio that gained both national and international recognition. Her images earned the prestigious Portrait of Britain award in 2023 and 2024, she was shortlisted for the Scottish Portrait Award, and her work was selected as a finalist in the Photo North Festival within professional categories.
Alongside her academic work, Isabelle also undertook self-funded projects and volunteered with NGOs around the world. Her experiences included documenting The HALO Trust’s landmine clearance work in Sri Lanka, reflecting her commitment to using photography as a tool to tell meaningful and impactful stories.
Isabelle credits her tutors, particularly John Carberry and Iain Smart, for their guidance and encouragement throughout her time at college, as well as the wider network of people she connected with along the way.
Her time at City of Glasgow College has played a key role in shaping her creative voice, supporting her growth as a photographer and enabling her to produce work that resonates on a global stage.
