Overview
This MCA approved one day course is suitable for seafarers undertaking designated security duties onboard ship and teaches students the underpinning knowledge required to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
The course covers - who does not have a designated security duty, the essential knowledge to have an awareness of, and contribute towards maritime security onboard their ship.
The PDSD course meets the requirements of Section A-VI, paragraphs 6-8 of the Amended STCW code.

What you study
You'll study:
- Recognising the importance of ship security and the roles of those involved in its provision.
- Identifying security risks, threats and vulnerabilities to the ship, its personnel, cargo and operations.
- Understanding the capabilities and limitations of security methods, equipment and systems.
- Maintaining security measures as per the ship security plan.
