Overview

If you have previously studied English, and achieved qualifications, or reached the Pre-Intermediate level, you should apply for this course. 

Learn advanced English skills - we offer ESOL courses at the following levels - Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, and Advanced.

We can help you with reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

Our ESOL lecturers are language-teaching experts and can help you develop language and study skills. Courses are designed to help improve your English, to help you live, work and study in Scotland.

Each year, you will have the opportunity to progress to the next level of study.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

Our lecturers provide pre-entry guidance and level testing. You will be placed into the most appropriate class, depending on your current English level.

  • For entry to the advanced class, and the Higher ESOL exam (level 6), you should have passed ESOL National 5, with Grade A or B.

After the course

Careers

When you study ESOL with us, you can also join the ESOL Job Club to develop employability skills, and explore work experience and volunteering.

Continuing Study

You can progress to higher level ESOL classes, and achieve ESOL qualifications at levels 4, 5 and 6.

Teaching

How the course is taught

You will study using blended learning. Most learning will be in the college building, and some will be online.

Assessment methods

Assessments are usually carried out by your teacher in the classroom.
