Overview

The MCA STCW Medical Care On Board Ship course is a 5-day course and is designed for seafarers in charge of the medical care onboard a ship.  This course meets the requirements of MCA.

This course will run subject to numbers.  All available as block bookings.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • You must already hold an STCW medical first aid certificate.
  • You must be at least 16 years of age.

  • Communications.
  • Making a diagnosis.
  • Female reproductive system and childbirth.
  • Respiratory system.
  • Medications and injections.
  • Urinary Tract, ENT, Dental and Ophthalmic.
  • Communicable Diseases.
  • Wounds.
  • Trauma injuries.

Teaching

How the course is taught

After successful completion of the course, you'll be able to recognise and manage of range of medical and trauma emergencies onboard a ship.
