Why train for a career in maritime?
No two days are the same.
You could be sailing into a new country one day and working with advanced ship systems the next. It’s fast-paced, hands-on and very different from a typical 9–5 path.
You’ll travel, earn, and build a career with real progression without needing to follow the traditional route.

Get paid while you train
Many maritime cadets are sponsored during training, meaning you could receive a bursary while training, with accommodation and travel often covered while at sea. Training combines college learning with real experience at sea, giving you practical skills from day one.
Â

Maritime careers offer excellent earning potential:
- £20,000–£42,000 when newly qualified.
- Up to ÂŁ55,000 with experience.

Depending on your role, some earnings may also be tax-free.
