Support for International students

We want you to enjoy your studies and experience with us at City of Glasgow College. That's why we have a range of support to help you settle into life in Glasgow and at College.

If you need help with your course work or your assessments, please speak to your Lecturer or Tutor as soon as possible.

The College has a dedicated Learning Support Team of tutors that can help you with English language, study skills, report writing, computer skills and numeracy through workshops or one to one support. You can meet with a Learning Support tutor to discuss a particular topic that you wish to improve, help you to resolve an academic difficulty or to develop strategies for study. This may be for referencing, numeracy, mind mapping, managing time, or any other reason.

Further help and support is also available from the Student Engagement Team who deliver a range of events, activities and support for you during your time with the City of Glasgow College.

Induction sessions will be held to welcome you to the College and to Glasgow and will provide information regarding support, registration, accommodation, shopping, living expenses etc. The Student Engagement Officers will provide assistance with arranging banking, doctors and dental registration and council tax exemption issues for you.

The Team will also provide a programme of events and activities for you to attend while you are studying with us, to introduce you to some the sights and culture of Scotland eg. Edinburgh Castle, visitor centres, firework displays and ceilidh dancing.  We will also provide opportunities for you to attend events held by our partner universities and you will have the chance to meet with other international students studying in Scotland.
