- MCA/SQA Chief Mate Written Prep - The course will prepare you for MCA/SQA written examinations covering Navigation and Ship Stability & Structure.
- Chief Mates HND Nautical Science - This course is designed for students to progress from OOW level (deck) to Chief mates/Master level. The course requires that you should have held an MCA approved OOW certificate and have served in that position at sea for a period of at least 12 months. You will also complete the following short courses: HELM Management & NAEST Management. You will achieve an HND in Nautical Science and obtain a Chief Mate Certificate of Competency. The course overall will equip you to become a competent and efficient Chief Mate.
- Chief Mates HND Distance Learning - Blended learning is a combination of techniques to deliver the same syllabus that you would receive via conventional classroom-based methods. You can access study material via the college virtual learning environment that consists of workbooks, videos, e-learning modules and quizzes as well as access to a range of library e-books.
- Chief Mate/Master (Reg II/2) Post HND /SPD/FD Nautical Science - This course is designed for you to progress from OOW level (deck) to Chief Mates or Masters level (Management CoC). It is for Officers who do hold a Higher National Diploma (HND), Scottish Professional Diploma(SPD) OR Foundation Degree(FD) in Nautical Science from a UK Establishment.
- Nautical Studies Tutorial - These structured tutorial classes, delivered in the run-up to the written exams, cover areas relevant to the MCA written syllabus. In addition to this evening support, students will be allowed to attend the day classes should they wish to do so.
