Gary has invited four amazing Scottish chefs who have inspired him over many years… from chefs he’s taught to chefs he’s trained with since the 1980s. Gary will deliver a fun-filled night with amazing food and lots of chat with the chefs.

Gary Maclean - Scotland’s National Chef and MasterChef: The Professionals winner 2016.

Multi-award winning chef Gary Maclean spent his early career was working in hotels where he learned a number of key skills.  He opened his own restaurant in Glasgow and as head chef challenged himself to regularly create new and exciting menus for his customers. From there he went on to run the kitchens at Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art and the Burrell Collection.  Gary has also held executive chef positions at two of Scotland’s biggest independent operators and his current role as Senior Lecturer at City of Glasgow College is what really drives his passion for mentoring other young chefs and creative cooking.  In December 2016 he was crowned MasterChef: The Professionals Champion, after taking on 47 other professional chefs in the pursuit of gastronomic glory.

Garry Gill - Head Chef of some of Scotland’s finest restaurants.

Garry Gill is currently head chef at a well-established catering company “It’s All Food”.  Based within the famous Arches venue in Glasgow city centre he caters for high volume corporate events. Prior to that Gary was Executive Chef at Hilton Strathclyde having previously held the position of executive sous chef for five years at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow. Garry has also worked at Glasgow Hilton 5 star hotel in the 2 rosette fine dining restaurant.

Jean-Paul Giraud - Head Chef of Hutcheson’s Glasgow.

Coming from a French/ Welsh background and a family of chefs Jean-Paul has been a Chef for over thirty years. Jean-Paul’s career spans from international to independent restaurants and hotel chains. He has worked as a chef for international royalty and has always taken pride in his father’s French heritage and classic food style.  Now working in the historic building that is Hutcheson's City Grill, he enjoys working with the best of Scottish seasonal produce.

Calum Montgomery - Chef Proprietor of Edinbane Lodge, Isle of Skye.

Portree born Calum has been developing his art since the age of 14 when he started washing dishes in the Cuillin Hills Hotel. His skills were honed under the tutelage of Masterchef winner, Gary Maclean at City of Glasgow College and further refined in the kitchens of One Devonshire Gardens in Glasgow and Kinloch Lodge on Skye. Calum’s biggest accolade to date was when he was awarded three AA rosettes at the age of 26, as head chef of Ullinish Lodge.  He recently opened his own restaurant Edinbane Lodge on the Isle of Skye.
