Overview
Coaching is a powerful and transformative learning process that enables individuals to reach their full potential. To be effective, coaches must draw on their knowledge, skills, and expertise to select and apply the right strategies for each coaching relationship.
The CMI Level 5 Qualifications in Professional Coaching Practice are designed to help you develop coaching skills at a more senior level, with a focus on linking coaching practice to the achievement of wider business goals.
With City of Glasgow College’s self-directed learning option, you’ll have the flexibility to complete your qualification at your own pace — allowing you to balance study with work and personal commitments. While the course is self-paced, you’ll still receive guidance and support from our experienced CMI tutors to ensure you stay on track.
You can choose to study either:
- Award – 1 unit.
- Certificate – 2 units.
Units available include:
- Unit 1: Principles of Professional Coaching
Explore the principles of coaching, its similarities and differences with other methods of support, and the rationale for its delivery. This unit also covers roles and responsibilities within the coaching relationship, organisational, legal and ethical frameworks, and quality assurance. - Unit 2: Strategies for Delivering Professional Coaching
Examine a wide range of strategies for delivering professional coaching while considering the impact of a coachee’s values, behaviours, and culture on their engagement with the coaching process.
This flexible, self-directed pathway allows you to take control of your learning journey while gaining a highly regarded Chartered Management Institute qualification to enhance your professional impact.
