Overview
The course will develop design skills from the basis of a sketchbook, drawing, making and building. Understanding the fundamentals of ergonomics and building spaces to creative positive experiences for the user. You will learn CAD and Sketch-Up, Adobe CC and others to support traditional techniques.
Alongside peers, you will be supported by a talented team of design staff specialising in interior architecture and design with varied backgrounds and industry skills, some of whom currently run design practices whilst teaching part-time.
Throughout the HNC you will learn to creatively interpret a design brief and communicate your vision in both visual and oral form.
With tutor guidance, you are encouraged to critically evaluate your own and others' work, share ideas and ultimately design innovative and interesting user-centred spaces. Creativity is developed through the design process via a broad range of dynamic commercial design projects, live projects, collaborations, and competitions.
