Overview

This two-year part-time course will prepare you with the knowledge and skills for a role in a broad range of administrative and IT roles or for further study leading to the second year of degree study in Business, Administration or IT based degrees.  

You will develop skills and knowledge in managerial roles and/or for further academic study.  The course focuses on the development of skills in IT, digital technologies and business. It is suitable for:   

  • Those with an interest in a career in administration, either in entering, or returning to a career in administration; or 
  • Those who are already in an administrative role and wish to enhance their qualifications and skills to progress further. 

Course Fees

The cost shown is for year one only.  Cost is inclusive of all associated fees, and excludes additional textbooks and reading materials. 

Funding may be available for the course from:-

  • FWDF (Flexible Workforce Development Fund) – Companies can claim up to £15,000 for training and development. This course is eligible to be used with this funding.  Funding is subject to availability. 
  • SAAS Part Time Grant Funding - Students who meet the required residence criteria and who earn less than £25000 per year are eligible to apply to SAAS for a part-time grant to help with the course fees.

You will study two evenings per week for two years during the academic term.

Entry requirements

Minimum entry requirements

  • One Higher plus 2 National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above; OR 
  • Relevant National Qualifications Group Award at SCQF level 5 or 6; OR 
  • SVQ 2 or 3 in Business and Administration or IT; OR
  • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

Learners achieving the HNC in Administration and Information Technology may have the option of progressing to:
