    Are you passionate about video games and curious about how they’re made? This hands-on course is your first step into the world of game design, programming, and digital creativity.

    You’ll learn to build games using industry-standard tools like:

    • Unity.
    • GameMaker Studio 2.
    • Adobe CC.

    Work with cutting-edge hardware, including PCs, VR headsets, and mobile devices in our high-spec gaming labs, while developing the skills needed to become a junior developer or progress to advanced study.

    Entry requirements

    Minimum entry requirements

    • One Higher at Grade C or above in Mathematics AND three National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above, including English or Communication and Computer Science; OR
    • One Higher at Grade C or above in Computer Science AND three National 5 qualifications at Grade C or abov,e including English or Communication and Mathematics; OR
    • National Qualification at SCQF level 6 in Computer Games; OR
    • Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

    ESOL entry requirements

    Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.

    The HNC Computer Games Development qualification has progression routes to 2nd year HND Computer Games Development course and to 2nd year BSc Games and Software Development degree programmes.
