    This course offers direct entry into the second year of the HND Acting and Performance programme. It builds on the foundation of skills developed in the HNC Acting and Performance, advancing your understanding of the craft of acting and performance techniques.

    Designed for those passionate about theatre and performance, the course is ideal if you aspire to become a professional actor, drama teacher, or drama practitioner. Through practical workshops and creative projects, you’ll deepen your knowledge, refine your skills, and prepare for a career in the performing arts industry.

    The course is placed on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework at Level 8.

     

    Entry requirements

    Minimum entry requirements

    • Direct entry to year two may be possible on successful completion of the HNC Acting and Performance with 15 credits and a positive recommendation from course tutors.
    • For external candidates, you should have an HNC in Acting & Performance and entry is by audition.

    Additional selection requirements

    You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject area or we'll make an offer based on your application form.

    ESOL entry requirements

    Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.

    • Work in the television, film, and live performance sectors.

    Continuing Study

    It may be possible to apply for further study at university level.
