Discover the world of natural wellbeing with our 6 week Introduction to Holistic Therapies leisure course. Perfect for beginners, this welcoming and informative class explores a range of complementary approaches designed to support balance in mind, body, and spirit.
Throughout the six weeks, you’ll gain an understanding of what holistic therapies are, how they work, and how they can be used to promote relaxation, stress relief, and overall wellbeing. Each session introduces a different therapy, giving you the chance to explore techniques such as relaxation practices and gentle hands-on methods used in holistic care.
The course combines engaging discussions, simple demonstrations, and practical activities so you can experience some techniques for yourself in a safe and supportive environment. You’ll also learn about the principles behind holistic health, including how lifestyle, emotional wellbeing, and physical health are interconnected.
Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
There are no minimum entry requirements; however, applicants whose first language is not English should have a minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent.
What you study
Each session introduces a different therapy, giving you the chance to explore techniques such as relaxation practices and gentle hands-on methods used in holistic care. Topics covered will include basic massage techniques for hand and arm, basic massage techniques for the scalp and face, stress management techniques, and how to use aromatherapy essential oils at home.
