City of Glasgow College was delighted to host the 2022 WorldSkills UK International Skills Summit which explored how to build a world-class skills economy in the UK.

The summit unveiled WorldSkills UK’s Skills Taskforce for Global Britain report into how the UK can become a global leader in developing skills to attract inward investment.

Taking place at the college’s City campus, high-profile panellists addressed the role of skills in delivering the levelling up agenda.

Paul Little, Principal and Chief Executive at City of Glasgow College, who took part in a panel discussion on developing skills, said:

“Our College was delighted to host this third International Skills Summit. In my role as Lead Ambassador for WorldSkills Scotland, I always look forward to championing the vital role that Scotland’s colleges play as proven economic anchors, uniquely placed to reboot the transformation of our economy through reskilling and upskilling.”

WorldSkills UK’s CEO Dr Neil Bentley-Gockmann OBE said:

“We were really pleased to be at City of Glasgow College for our third international skills summit. This year’s event got to the heart of how we develop the skills to attract inward investment and create high-quality jobs. The Skills Taskforce for Global Britain unveiled its report setting out how to attract that vital investment to more parts of the UK to create jobs and improve living standards.”
