Equipment Demonstration Introduces Culinary Students to Innovative New Technology
Culinary students at City of Glasgow College recently took part in a practical equipment demonstration featuring the Thermomix TM6, held in one of the College’s professional training kitchens.
The session, delivered by demonstrators Jane and Ranald Brown, gave students and staff the opportunity to see the multi-functional appliance in action and to consider its role within contemporary professional kitchens.
During the demonstration, attendees observed the preparation of a fresh salad, soup and crème pâté. The session explored how integrated kitchen technologies can support efficiency and consistency in food preparation, while maintaining professional standards - an area of growing relevance across the hospitality sector.
The demonstration formed part of the department’s ongoing efforts to familiarise students with a range of industry equipment and emerging technologies. Exposure to different tools and working methods supports students in developing adaptable skills for a changing workplace.
Over 25 students and staff attended, with discussion throughout focusing on how such equipment might complement traditional culinary techniques within a learning environment.
The College extends its thanks to Jane and Ranald Brown for delivering the session and for their support in providing students with insight into emerging kitchen technology.
