  • Cruse Bereavement Support Scotland offers support, including a helpline, live chat, counselling, and information for anyone affected by the death of someone they know. 
  • The Compassionate Friends provide one-to-one support, local support groups and produce a range of publications for parents, children, grandparents and professionals, as well as a website specifically for people dealing with the death of a brother or sister.
  • WAY Widowed & Young offers peer support and friendship for people who were widowed before the age of 51. Members can continue accessing support after age 51 if they joined before then.
  • Grief Works outlines the 8 Pillars of Strength that can help cope with grief and bereavement. 
  • Let’s Talk About Loss offers supportive meetups to help people aged 18-35 cope with their grief.

Loss by Suicide

  • SOBS - Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide supports those bereaved by the suicide of a close relative or friend, aiming to provide a safe, confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings, so giving and gaining support from each other.
  • Petal supports people affected by murder, culpable homicide and suicide. They offer counselling, psychotherapy, practical and emotional support through telephone, online and some face-to-face services. Support is available for adults, children and young people, subject to eligibility.

Pet Loss

  • Blue Cross provides free pet loss support for people grieving the death of a pet, including information, resources and emotional support.

Pregnancy Loss

  • Glasgow Pregnancy Choices offers confidential emotional support, information and advice after any baby loss, including abortion and miscarriage.
  • Tommys can help support you through baby loss. They offer a midwife’s helpline, Facebook groups and Black and Black Mixed Heritage helpline.
  • Sandyford Abortion Services provides confidential, non-judgemental abortion care for people considering ending a pregnancy. The service offers information about available options, support with decision-making, guidance throughout the process and follow-up care.
