WORLDSKILLS UK SCOTLAND 2019
From Monday 4 March, we are honoured to be the 2019 host college for this prestigious UK-wide event which includes an insight into the importance of WorldSkills Competitions - the Olympics of skills; a taste of what it takes to be a gold-medalist and the all important selection of team members who will represent their country on a global stage in Russia this summer. It is going to be an exciting week!
FROM GLASGOW TO KAZAN
In August, WorldSkills Kazan 2019 will bring together more than 1,600 young professionals representing more than 60 countries who will compete in over 56 skills. Their journey starts here.
From Tuesday 5 March to Thursday 7 March, the best of the best from the UK’s top apprentices and learners will compete at our stunning City Campus Glasgow for a coveted place in Team UK.
Four skill areas will be tested to the limit, across: Cooking; Patisserie and Confectionery; Visual Merchandise and Restaurant Service. Join one of our tours to watch competitors in action.
STIMULATING DEBATE ON SKILLS
From Tuesday 5 March to Thursday 7 March, our WorldSkills UK Scotland Conference activity will run alongside the skills activities.
Young professionals and former medalists, WorldSkills Ambassadors, politicians, employers, leading educationalists and representatives of development institutions will gather at the Conference.
The importance of developing professional and technical skills fit for the future and the challenges of developing the young workforce will be among the range of discussion on offer. View the Conference programme.
