Overview

The REHIS Elementary Health and Safety Certificate is an entry-level qualification designed to give workers a basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace.

The course develops essential knowledge to keep everyone safe at work. It covers risk assessment, hazard awareness, manual handling, fire safety, and more, helping prevent accidents caused by a lack of knowledge or carelessness.

CSCS recognises this course as equivalent to the Level One Award Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. The REHIS Elementary Health and Safety certificate can be used to qualify for the CSCS Green Labourers Card.

This practical course provides a general introduction to Health and Safety issues, and the precise meaning of terms commonly used in this area.

On the day of the course, you’ll work through a course handbook and at the end, you’ll sit a multiple-choice question paper.

Candidates must bring their National Insurance Number and Photographic Identification. The Primary ID must include the candidate’s full name, a recognisable photograph, and signature (except for an e-Visa).

If candidates do not have the required form of Primary ID, they may present two forms of Secondary ID. Please get in touch for further information.

There is a single examination for this certificate comprising of 30 multiple-choice questions. The duration of the examination is 30 minutes.  Candidates must gain a minimum of 18 marks to pass the examination.

Learners receive a REHIS Elementary Health and Safety certificate upon successful completion, which can be used to support an application for the CSCS Green Labourer Card.
