Jodie RundellÂ
I’m a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, photography, (sometimes) painting and I have a particular interest in installation.  I’ve recently been exploring the subconscious through perception and emotional experiences.  My practice isn’t tied to one medium; I use whatever feels necessary to translate internal experiences into physical form.  Through these mediums, I aim to build immersive environments that distort perception and disrupt self-recognition.  My work often sits between control and unpredictability, and it’s shaped by both personal enquiry and public interaction.  I’m interested in how private thoughts become shared, unstable and open to interpretation, and I aim to create work that feels intense, disorientating and difficult to define.Â
Exhibition StatementÂ
My work has been exploring the subconscious, using dreams as a way to understand feeling and emotional experiences.  The installation transforms those internal experiences into a physical space through resin forms, reflective surfaces and UV lights.  Each sculpture exists as an individual fragment, but collectively they create an immersive environment where viewers can see their reflections but without fully recognising who they are. Influenced by conversations around the strange, abstract and often unexplainable nature of dreaming. I want this work to allow viewers to collectively think of their own individual worlds and shared dreamscapes.Â
