Sophie Corser
I am a Glasgow-based artist who specialises in mixed media. Using mediums such as textiles, printmaking, and photography, I explore the themes of Scottish landscapes, appropriation, and the romanticisation of Scottish culture. I combine paper and textiles by using existing media and stitch it together or embroidering on top.

Love Letter to Scotland
Love Letter to Scotland is a series of pieces that reflect on themes of appropriation, physical media, and the romanticisation of Scotland. With influences such as Susan Hiller and Rosalind Wyatt this exhibition depicts vintage postcards and the messages on them from real people in the 1930’s, it shows both the romantic postcards of Scotland and the stories behind them. The exhibition also includes pieces of fabric with large writing directly from the postcards, highlighting the beautiful handwriting of the 20th century.
