City Students Inspired by Luxury Textiles Donation

Perthshire-based leading hospitality garment supplier, Luxury Textiles, has stepped up to support the aspiring culinary talents at City of Glasgow College. They made a substantial donation of over £10,000 worth of chefs whites and aprons which is set to enhance the educational journey of professional cookery, bakery, and patisserie students as they prepare to enter the hospitality industry.

Luxury Textiles' owner, Billy McNeill, alongside Scotland's National Chef, Gary Maclean, recently visited the college to present the donation to our students.

Billy McNeill expressed his enthusiasm for supporting the development of people in the industry, stating, "The hospitality industry is a great industry to be a part of and by making this donation, we hope it will serve as a valuable support to students' educational pursuits and professional endeavours in this vibrant industry."

“My involvement with Apprenticeships in Hospitality Scotland, which also works closely with the college, provides me with a first-hand appreciation for the vital role education, particularly that provided by City of Glasgow College, plays in shaping the future of hospitality”.

Luxury Textiles creates garments for clients and provides an end-to-end service that combines creativity with a commercial focus to deliver outstanding brand wardrobes and among many of the clients they partner some of the top hospitality businesses, including Gleneagles, Gleneagles Townhouse, The Torridon, Ennismore, Archerfield, Turnberry and more.

Gary Maclean, Scotland's National Chef and a prominent figure at City of Glasgow College, expressed his gratitude, remarking, "We are extremely grateful for this generous contribution from Billy and the Luxury Textiles team. In an era where students face mounting financial pressures, this support ensures that those most in need are equipped with the tools they require to thrive in their educational and professional pursuits."
