College Lecturers Honoured with International Academic Titles in China
Three lecturers from City of Glasgow College have been recognised on the global stage after being awarded prestigious Guest Professor certificates during a special ceremony in China.
Angela Kershaw, alongside colleagues Alan McCorkindale and Stephanie Coyle, received the honour while delivering supply chain management training at the Zhejiang Technical Institute of Economics in Hangzhou. The awards were presented in recognition of their contribution to international education and collaboration.
The trio spent four weeks in China as part of an ongoing partnership between the College and the institute, helping students develop practical, globally relevant skills in logistics and supply chain management.
Speaking about the experience, Angela Kershaw described the visit as “energising, insightful and deeply rewarding,” highlighting the value of cross-cultural exchange in modern education. She noted that working closely with Chinese students and staff offered fresh perspectives on global logistics, problem-solving and collaboration.
The partnership between the two institutions has grown steadily in recent years, with regular exchanges of staff and knowledge. It aims to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
Angela added that the experience went beyond teaching: “This partnership is more than a programme, it’s a platform for mutual growth, innovation and lasting professional ties.”
The recognition marks a proud moment for the lecturers involved and also for City of Glasgow College, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in international education and industry-focused training.
