College Marks 15 Years
City of Glasgow College proudly celebrated its 15th anniversary with a special Gala Dinner that brought together colleagues past and present, valued partners, supporters, students, and alumni.Â
We were honoured to welcome Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney MSP, as guest of honour at the celebration, which reflected on 15 years of learning, growth, and shared achievement. More than 200 guests joined us for the occasion, including long-standing partners who continue to support the College in providing life-changing opportunities for students.Â
The evening was a true example of our Team City spirit, meticulously planned and delivered by our students and staff. Students played a central role in shaping every aspect of the event, gaining invaluable experience in their specialist fields and demonstrating the professionalism, creativity, and talent that defines City of Glasgow College. Guests were also treated to an outstanding dining experience, curated and delivered by our students in partnership with BaxterStorey.Â
A highlight of the evening was the launch of 15 Years, 15 Stories, a commemorative booklet capturing inspiring journeys from across our community. Each story reflects the unique experiences of our students and alumni – from achievements and friendships to challenges overcome and lessons learned. These stories will be shared over the coming weeks to mark this important milestone.Â
We are deeply grateful to our generous sponsors who covered all the Gala Dinner costs – The Herald Scotland, BaxterStorey (& partners), Thorntons Law LLP, Glasgow Learning Quarter, Cameron Events, Dimplex UK, Bunzl UK and Ireland, Glasgow Taxis Limited, Capital Hair & Beauty, and John Brown Cater Hire Ltd – whose support made the event possible and allows us to deliver such transformative opportunities for our students.Â
Speaking at the event, Paul Little, Principal and Chief Executive of City of Glasgow College, said:Â
“This celebration is about looking back at 15 years of remarkable achievements and recognising the people who make our College what it is – our students, staff, alumni, and partners. Their passion, commitment, and belief in the power of education have shaped a community we are truly proud of. As we look ahead, we are excited to welcome new ideas, new opportunities, and new generations of students who will write the next chapter in our story. The future of City of Glasgow College is bright, and together we will continue to achieve great things.”Â
As City of Glasgow College looks to the future, we do so with excitement for the new faces, ideas, and opportunities that will shape the next chapter of our story. Here’s to many more years of success, innovation, and unforgettable memories.Â
