What is Visual Communications?  

If you recognise drawings, signs, websites, illustrations, graphic design, type, animation and computer games then you know what visual communication is. These are just some of the many elements which make up visual communications. Visual communication is a way of communicating ideas and information in a visual format.  

At City of Glasgow College we offer a wide range of specialist qualifications which come under the heading of Visual Communications. If you are creative, a problem solver and have something to say then one of these courses may be for you. We have so many visual communications courses that we’ve divided them into four areas.  You can access information on each area via the tiles below.

The creative industries as a whole is the fastest-growing part of the UK economy, growing at 4 times the rate of the UK economy so there are lots of exciting careers in this field.  The Creative Industries employs over 2 million people in the UK and are forecast to create an additional 1 million jobs by 2030! You can have a fulfilling and well-paid career working in the creative industries.
